I've been told that I am naive for thinking people had no reason to smoke in the first place.
I want to see all of the reasons people started so that I can get a understanding of made some decide to do it in the first place.
Did you know the risks? If so, why was starting worth the risks?
Suggestion:
peer pressure.

I married a smoker and after a while started having one with her every now and then. After a while it just became more of a habit. Now I smoke about a half a pack a day. Yes, I know the risks but enjoy doing it. Everything we do now has risks.
I never started, and I never will. However, the guy I like smokes, so I try to think if I were with him, I probably wouldn't care if he smoked….despite the fact it could kill you. So maybe I'd probably encourage him to stop.
Worked with alot of smokers when i was 17. And thought i would try it. Now 28 and still smoking. Wish i never bought the first pack!!!
I was high on Crack Cocaine, and it just sounded like a good way to bring myself back down.
