Why Are My Legs Numb After Quitting Smoking?

Hello all, I quit smoking Monday May 24th, with help from the patch. I've been off of the patch for a few days now and I notice (even with the patch) that my legs go numb at random times during the day. Not so much 100% numb, but numb where it feels like my leg is asleep. Is this a side effect of the nicotine patch or am I just going crazy?

Suggestion:

High Nick..

the only thing im aware of is that nicotine is a vascular constrictor.. that is, it narrows the artery's.. so it may in fact, be a side effect of the patch.. if that's the case then your dose is probably too high.. the other respondent is right however, you may want to contact your physician as the symptoms may be something more serious like peripheral artery disease.. or even heart failure.. (unfortunately the voice of experience)

the good news is that i now have been quit for over 5 years.. i quit trying to quit alone, and joined a support group.. i attend nicotine anonymous meetings both locally and on line.. on line voice meetings are he as close as your computer, and you can attend while still smoking, before actually attempting a quit.. however you decide to quit good luck, there is simply no wrong way to quit!!
