Whats Up with the New Cigarette Names?

So I heard about this law banning the use of the word "lights" and "ultra lights", because it misleads people to believe it's safer. Is that stupid or is it just me? Now instead of asking for camel lights, I have to say camel blue…and instead of marlboro lights, its marlboro silver, or gold or whatever.

Do you know what that changed? Instead of saying the word light, i say a color.

Who really believes that it tricks people? Maybe the warning that says "LIGHTS DOES NOT MEAN SAFE, IT REFERS TO FLAVOR" wasn't obvious enough? Don't people pick the cigarette they like, rather than what the box says?

I choose to smoke light—i mean blue cigarettes because they don't hurt my throat like regular "full FLAVOR" (not full danger) cigarettes…

I guess what im saying is that IF people really did think that lights meant "safer", now people will simply associate blue and silver with "safer"….so what was fixed?

Ideas, opinions?

Oh yeah, i know, smoking is bad, you dont have to say it.

Suggestion:

they would rather just confuse the hell out of everyone with the colors! people will still say "lights" tho when ordering a pack of cigarettes =)
