I have insomnia and i think i finally want to get a prescription for it but i dont know which i would get with these symptoms; my goal is to get valium because my past experiences with benzos have always made sleep come easily and nicely, and plus i dont want anything that will make me groggy or unnaturally tired.
So, i dont know exactly what to tell the doctor but im thinking ill just tell her somthing along the lines of: I think i have insomnia, when i try to sleep i think about stuff too much and it makes me frustrated. i cant get more than 3 or 4 hours of sleep every two days and although i may be unbelievably tired, i am still unable to sleep. Also, when i finally get to sleep i tend to get muscle spams or cramps that dont allow me to stay asleep more than acouple hours and once im awake it is impossible to fall back asleep.
and i think im going to lie and say i get night terrors too if my symptoms dont appear to be enough.
Some things i dont know she might want to know, or if it is wise to tell her are: i have recently quit smoking marijuana, and it was usually what put me to sleep, and i recently started living alone and taking care of my family's house since they are going to be out of the country for quite a while.
Also, ive tried just about everything possible to fix thes problem,
Suggestion:
Valium would help your problem I guess, but I don't think benzos are all around awesome. I know a person that started taking them because she is a nurse and her sleeping got messed up because she worked nights but anyway she took them for sleep and she would always say “I'm going to just kill mysellf, you don't care about me any ways” and she was lethergic, hearing was bad,her memory was horrible, speech was slurred. But she took way too much because her tolerance was "through the roof"she said. But if you do start taking them, just keep it in moderation,I guess,ha it would just be bad to turn out like that girl.
If you got a prescription, you would get a benzodiazapine(sp?) Most likely. To get valium specifically, you might have to say you have anxiety too.
