i quit yesterday, but now i feel the urge to smoke when i normally do…late at night while watching tv, while driving, when i step outside, etc…
one of my drs suggested chewing gum but it doesnt help much.
i can't do the patch or anything cause i'm pregnant which is why i quit.
what helped you to not smoke??
im going from about 7 cigs/a day to none for almost a year.
thanks in advance
Suggestion:
drink plenty of juices like OJ, cranberry, grape, pink grapefruit, anything along those lines. they will help purge your system out. the first two weeks to a month are the hardest. thats why you need to purge the nicotene out as soon as possible to knock back the cravings. exercise also helps to get fresh air into the lungs to make the body adjust back to what it was.

i heard this from a friend: her mother took this training corse in which they put a small, sort of listening device looking thing in her ear. That and pinching a nerve in the edge of your ear releases something into your brain for when you get cravings. Look into it… sorry i couldn't be more specific.
Hey first off good for you for quitting! I quit smoking cold turkey when I found out I was pregnant with my Daughter what I kept thinking about was every time I took a drag off of that cigarette was a time that my baby couldnt take a breath of air. and I kept telling myself is my habit really that much more important than my childs health or even life? & thats what really got me through it.. I also Kicked everyone outside that smoked & told them that if they wanted to smoke their butts then they can do it outside but when they were done they had to wash their hands. & no smoking in the car..Even if its theirs! (if your in the car & child)
I hope this works for you! Good Luck!
