i've been dating the most amazing guy ever for 5 months now.he's PERFECT except for one thing, he wants to keep on smoking weed.He stopped when we began dating b/c i told him to. But recently in April 21, 2010 i moved to mexico & i'm guessing he was sad & a lot was going on in school w/ him almost getting paneled (expelled from school & going to the give-center..it's in georgia) & getting lots of referrals for getting into fights & he broke our promise of not smoking. & currently i was giving him reasons on what it does to your body & i dont really know much about marijuana cause health class bores me so i daydream, & i googled it but it was like too much reading & it was like at 3am lol so i gave up.lol.But also i gave up b/c he was telling me that marijuana is not bad for you & the effects go away in 8 hours..so can anyone give me reasons on why marijuana is bad & why you shouldn't do it??thanx..

You should have expected to get a lot of answers from people who are in the legalize pot camp.
Here's something for you to consider.
I used to smoke weed off and on when I was much younger. I recall smoking with some guys and then we went for a ride in his car. He was so out of it that he never realized that he was drifting into the turn lane. He jumped a curb, took out a small tree and a sign before managing to steer back into his own lane. Fortunately, no one was waiting to turn at the time and no one was hurt. But it taught me a frightening lesson about the effects of pot.
Just a little over a week ago, a friend and his wife were on their way home on his motorcycle. The 16-year-old girl driving the car had been smoking pot. Unfortunately, when she veered into the oncoming lane the result was much more tragic. My friend is still in a coma in the hospital after being in there for over a week. He has no idea that his wife was killed.
The girl won't be prosecuted for it though. A few days after the accident she wrote a suicide note and stepped in front of a big truck.
Anyone who says that smoking pot doesn't hurt anything is an irresponsible liar. Two deaths, one crippled victim and two families destroyed is proof enough that it does, in fact hurt.
