first off im 17, so thats bad enough. i started smoking the occasinal cig with my friends who smoke them very often. i enjoyed the way they made me feel, and that they took away anxiety. but i know of the major health risks and i really wana stop. recently iv been having 2-3 a day, and feel like its only guna lead to more. i have a pack of them now, i was thinking of just smoking a few tomorrow, and then ditching the rest (with the help of friends) as sort of a "last cigarrette". im going on vacation next week and im not guna be able to smoke at all, so i figure that tomorrow can be last day i smoke them, and if i can go a week, i can quit for good.
are there any tips anyone has to quitting?qi
Suggestion:
Well, i quit smoking not long ago and i started when i was 16 (i'm 20 now), so i understand how you feel. I've heard a lot of things people do, like chew on cut straws when they want a cig, or to ween themselves off of cigarettes and start only smoking half of a cig every time they go outside, but honestly, what i did was just cut it down to one a day, and then just stopped cold turkey. It was hard at first and i had a lot of headaches, and i was crankier than usual, but after a week or two the symptoms were much less noticeable. So if you have to stop smoking on vacation, all i can tell you is to take aspirin, pretty much.
Good luck!
