Should There Be Some Fire Doors in My Block of Flats?

I live in a contained 3 storey block of 6 purposly built (approx. 1960) self contained flats. There are 2 electronic security access doors on the ground floor but no other exits or fire excapes, the stairwell runs from top to bottom with no dividing fire doors, none of the flats have fire doors as front doors (cheap 1/2 wood 1/2 glass) or internal, there are no smoke alarms or emergancy lighting. Is this legal? i would of thought at the very least there should be a fire door on the front of each flat to stop the spread of fire?

Suggestion:

As it was built during 1960s then it wont comply to today's standard, but as a minimum your flat front door should be fire rated, check along edge for a seal, sometimes plastic.
As for smoke detectors & emerg. lighting only if major building work is undertaken would it req. updating, until then its up to landlord
