Quit Smoking 5 Weeks Ago Now I Feel Sick.?

i quit smoking at the end of February and 2 1/2 weeks later i get Gastroenteritis (commonly referred to as the stomach flu) then two weeks after that i was sanding and repainting my truck and got a 5 day sore throat. (i've sanded and painted multiple cars before no problem with no respirator) I'm also experiencing ibs symptoms such as constant intestine gurgling. no pain. is it because i stopped smoking cold turkey or is it coincidence? the only medical problems ive ever had was severe anxiety/depression which was the reason i quit smoking cold turkey, they gave me panic attacks. (im 21 and i smoked heavily for 6 years)

Suggestion:

you are going through nicotine withdrawal.
expect the nausea to gradually subside, but not for at least a month or more.
hang in there.

Wow good job!
Not many people are strong enough to quit cold turkey!
I would say that it is normal to get really odd symptoms.
If the symptoms don't go away I would contact your doctor just to be sure that everything is fine !

wait what were you smoking, i quit smoking weed last month, i couldnt think or concentrate straight for the following week and a half, but when you quit a habit such as smoking your going to go through spurts of depression, anxiety, your going to question you motives for quitting, your going to crave it, you might even end up having a tough time sleeping like i did.

all of it will pass if you fight through it, im 17 but ive quit smoking WEED not cigarettes about three times on and off you know, all of the sideffects will end up going away through persoverence and keeping on your goal, try and think of other things to do and be busy alot. if your active they will pass soon rather than later

one love

Qutting smoking has its repercussions and will go away in time. I congratulate you quitting this dangerous habit that has serious implications to your health. If you read the cigarette boxes it will tell you of the harm to your body, yet people ignore the instructions and go ahead being a chronic smoker. The 'cancer stick' (cigarette) is a known cause for severe lung disorders and some cancers. Also your normal heart function is affect, and can lead to cardiac arrest resulting from a heart attack. Please use the force of your mind to stay free of smoking. The problems you are facing are side effects cause by quitting. Do things that will keep your mind from smoking, chew a gum like nicorette. Change your life entirely too, and believe on the Lord Jesus and this will make you even more strong to desist from the dangerous habit. Bye now, and I am glad that another smoker quits.

Hey! Welcome to my world! hehe! I haven't had a cigarette since January 23rd 2010! i have been going through so much it's unreal! i've been off work since then after an operation on my foot so i've been bored at home which makes it 10 times worse! you're just going through nicotine withdrawals and your body is trying to flush all the crap out of your system, Quitting cold turkey isn't easy but i've done it, i still have a mouth full of ulcers but they're nothing i can't handle! Your immune system is gonna be shot for the next month or so but it'll pass, and you'll start to feel great after that GOOD LUCK! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
