My Mother Has Been Trying to Quit Smoking, However My Father Smokes and She is Having a Lot of Trouble B/c?

she says she always smells it. If you have quit after smoking for a long time can you give me any helpful advice that might help her succeed? I appreciate all positive answers, Also, she tells me that when you try and stop it might take several efforts and you might slip from time to time. Is this true?

Suggestion:

The key thing that helped me quit before was getting through the withdraw the fastest. She needs to replenish her body with vitamin B & C in the morning with breakfast and of an evening at supper. She needs to drink as much water as she possibly can with it to help flush the nicotine out of her system. If she can make it after the first 2 days the rest is just the mental part of the addiction. If she can keep herself occupied on anything else that extremely interest her it will help. Exercise is also a good key to success and to wear her out at the same time to keep from thinking about it. Your father needs to quit at the same time to make it easier too.
