My mom smokes 1 to 2 cigarettes a day, which adds to about 365 a year or even more. She does not smoke in front of us so I am not worriedd second hand smoke. She has been coughing lately, so I'm afriad that she might get even more sick, or pick up a disease. Every time I give her a reason that smoking is bad for her, she gets stubborn , and turns it down. I really need some tips that could help her stop. Thank you so much!
Suggestion:
I am so sorry that you are going through this.
Plead with your Mom to stop smoking and let her know that you want her to be around to see you get married (if you're not or want to) have children of your own (if you want any) or just ask her to stop because you love her and the thought of you losing her will be unbearable.
I know that smoking is a very bad habit to conquer and she may even continue to ignore your pleas, but at least let her know how you feel by telling her that you love her in a calm voice, because screaming will only make her rebel and keep smoking.
Good luck to you.
