In the last six months i had started smoking just to fit in with friends, i know that it is a mugs game but i still tried it anyway.
I have just recently found out that there's a high risk of cancer on my dads side of the family.
Now for the last four weeks i have completely stopped but finding it very hard not to give in to these cravings.
so can anyone give me advice to keep these cravings under control.
Suggestion:
There's no magic bullet – different things work for different people. You might try a prescription for buproprion. Or nicotine gum. Or when you get a craving, try to channel your energy and focus away from cigarettes – try going for a walk, do some pushups, clean, etc. It might also help to print out some graphic pictures of the results of cancer (i.e. people with tracheotomies, tongues removed, lower jaw removed, etc) and put that in your wallet or somewhere you'll look when you think about smoking a cig.
