Is There Any Resolution to the Debate on Whether…?

…cannabis smoking increases the risk of addiction to other drugs. someone stated it to me as a 'fact' that this isn't true. I felt a bit patronised to be honest and said that I thought that medical experts/scientists etc didn't actually agree on any answer.

Suggestion:

I think the argument is fatuous. I think that people who want to explore illegal substances will do what they will. People who want to get out of their gourd will do whatever they want.

Is cannabis good or bad? I think the answer is both. I think that some of the modern varieties sound too strong. It can make people paranoid, but it can also alleviate some other problems. swings and roundabouts. A lot of the anti stuff is based on the subversive history of the drug.

I don't smoke it. The last time I had any, I felt possessed. Yes I laughed, but in a way that felt like it was somebody else doing it. I hated the experience completely.

Edit. Tobacco is a herb, Cocaine is derived from coca – a herb, heroin is a herb – poppy. Alcohol is a bi-product of the fermentation of herbs using natural yeasts. It's all herbs man. "herb" must be the most abused term when it comes to trying to claim a natural moral high ground. Herbs are quite possibly the most dangerous substances on the planet. Try eating some henbane or hemlock… they're herbs.
