They treat diseases, they don't prevent it. Doctors don't tell their patients about exercise, diet and smoking. Patients don't go to the doctors when they're healthy for prevention. Unlike the dentist industry.
Suggestion:
Actually, I think some doctors do tell their patients about those things. And many people (not me) do go for annual preventive checkups. But you're right, the big money is in treating diseases, not preventing them.
