Impacts of Smoking Weed? How It Affects People Who Just Start, what to Watch out For?

So im wondering, what the real facts are with smoking weeds affects on the body and how people react to it. So my bf that has recently engaged in smoking, I am not a smoker at all, (its not cigarattes or anything unless in the future it makes them decide to try something new) I hear a million things over the media that are a myth and a lot of it is hard to tell what is accurate. In the past ive had friends who picked up smoking that it strained the friendship.
I dont know whether or not to see how it works or if its just a shot in the dark and he'd become addicted. To me it seems something is up with the impacts of smoking because the -potheads- always seem to be a group of their own

Suggestion:

We ARE our own group. I cannot tell you any crazy stats or what could happen to your body when you start…but i've been smoking for almost 5 years now. i also smoke cigarettes. I have never had anything go wrong with my body because of it, sans coughing up some stuff. But that is from smoking cigarettes. I feel better when I smoke, I don't have brain damage from it, I don't do bad things, it actually helps me concentrate and makes me a MUCH happier person. You cannot get addicted to marijuana, you can however get used to being high. And that's why we are our own group. It's awkward when people don't smoke, you don't know what to do with non smokers lol I have only had good feelings from my entire time smoking, and when i'm not i don't freak about the next time i have to get high. It brings people together :] don't worry so much, it's the safest drug there is. Not to mention, it's a plant… so how bad can it be?
