I'm 13.i Feel As Like I Can't Go On.i Just Want to Recover.are There Any Medication That Can Help?anything?

4 months ago I smoked weed a couple of times.
I have guilt over it.A lot of guilt.Like when I remember at how much enjoyed life and see how much I have ruined it I start punching the wall.It hurts but my psychological pain is far worse.
Since then I have had the following symptoms:
-feeling of not being real
-voice seeming distant and unknown
-social anxiety
-constantly tired
-suicidal thoughts
-can't enjoy anything anymore
-can't feel happiness
-constant feelings of guilt
-feeling like I lost a part of my personality,a part of myself
-feeling numb to the outside world

Please.When will this stop?
I'm going to a free clinic psychiatrist next week. Can he cure me?
Can he cure this depresonalization and whatever else I have?

I just want to be normal :(

Suggestion:

You should realize that anti-depressants in people under 20 can often have the opposite effect. That's because the brains of people your age are different chemically than a fully formed adult brain (i.e. many hormones).

However, it's important that we get you to stop feeling this way! First, you need to accept the fact that you did something you really regret doing. You are not the first and definitely not the last to do such a thing! People of all moral standings do things like have sex with people they regret, smoke, drink, etc. Things like this happen, even to the people you'd least suspect.

Accept what you did and see it in a positive light. You now have perspective and you won't judge people who do stupid things and regret it. Congratulations for learning from it!

Now about your feelings: I am 20 now, but when I was 15, I felt like you did. I felt distant, my body ached, I couldn't eat, I lost weight, I cried all the time, and I was afraid to be alone because I thought something would overcome me and I would kill myself. I don't know what took it away, but I spent a few months praying, talking to my mom, and watching my favorite TV show.

I'm sorry I couldn't be much of help when it comes to treating how you feel, but I think one of the most important things for you to know in order to help you feel better (and I wish I'd had someone to tell me the same) is that you are not alone in your feelings. As a human, nothing you feel is unlike anything anyone's ever felt. There's been at least someone else in the history of the world who's gone through the exact same thing. I'm one of them, and I'm here telling you that I'm okay right now, and that you should learn from your mistakes instead of beating yourself up over them.

Good luck!

This is what typically happens when a minor smokes marijuana.

Alot of research on marijuana doesn't cover the effects on minors, and sometimes the mental effects are debilitating. That being said however, depersonalization can be treated, but it's gonna be a rough ride until the end of the tunnel. Stay away from marijuana until you're 18 to be safe.

sounds like the only thing harming you is not the weed it's self but your guilt over doing it… don't feel so guilty about it many people have smoked pot and there are people that have made far far faarrrr worse decisions in life at the age of 13… trust me… let go of the past and learn from your mistakes, take it as a learning experiance for you… it's all in your head.. quit being weak, be strong, life goes on

It's good that you're seeing a psychiatrist. I used to suffer from extreme panic attacks and my psychiatrist helped me get over it. You will get through this, but it will take time.

so you smoked weed, huh.

and those symptoms just the start….
….but at least your friends think you cool, right?

You may be suffering from some mental health issue that can be diagnosed and treated by a doctor. You are so mature to be able to articulate your feelings so well. Having this information available for the psychiatrist they can help you to get on a road to feeling better. Your determination, dedication and commitment on getting help will be important so you can get on the best track. There are certainly medications that can be very helpful to where you can live a very happy and productive life.

It certainly is possible that your feelings can get less and less as you get older and circumstances will change. You can try coping skills to lesson your overwheling feelings such as listening to music, writing your feelings down in a journal to give you a perspective on where these feelings are coming from, talking with friends and family, speaking with a school counselor, reading, writing poetry, excersize (taking a walk) etc. these activities can help with settling your feelings helping you feel better.

I hope you get the help you need and know these feelings can get better, if you need someone to speak with you can call the boystown national hotline at 1-800-448-3000 where you can speak with a trained counselor 24 hours/day. They would love to help you.

Take care.
