If I Stop Smoking Now, Will Running Time Improve?

so i want to run a certain distance and time, for saturday! i have run this same route today and recorded my time..

will there be any body change or difference , with breathing etc., in a short period of time?

or will i be worse, with withdrawl symptoms and such!

Suggestion:

No, it takes time for the body to undergo changes. If you were training for an event it takes 2 weeks for the training to take effect. If you quit smoking, it would depend how long you had been smoking and how much you smoked daily but they say it takes a couple of years.
