Whenever I write, I listen to a certain song over and over to sorta put me in the mood I guess.
But I'm having a hard time with this one O.o
Basically, the book is about a girl who has to deal with the suicide of her sister. She tries to act like nothing happens, but in the night, she's tortured by her dreams, memories, and thoughts. Sometimes, she walks to the bridge her sister jumped from and just screams at the sky, hoping her sister could hear her.
But there's two new boys in town; twins. James is the bad boy type. He flirts with Natalie (the main character). Really, he only wants to pick her up, play with her, and dump her. He knows the torture she's going through, but it's a game to him. He WANTS to hurt her.
But Patrick, the other twin, tries to help her out. When James breaks Natalie's heart, he tries to help her out. Then he finds out she's doing drugs, drinking, cutting, smoking, ect. He tries to help her stop, but she just doesn't even want to try.
Then she's sent to a mental hospital, where she meets her new best friend: Raven Avery LaFleur. Raven is a seriously crazy person. She's obsessed with birds, freedom, and humming. And if anyone even tries to take away her nightgown she screams all night. She's Natalie's room mate and eventually friend.
One day, the doctors find Natalie in her bathroom, the mirror broken, and a pool of blood around Natalie's unconscious body. When she wakes up, Patrick's studying one of her arms. All over her arms, legs, and stomach, she's carved the word 'Worthless' over and over.
Patrick tells her "You'll never be worthless, Natalie. No matter how many times you carve it into yourself."
And he promises her he's never visiting her in the mental hospital again. She's devestated; Patrick is her only friend. So she escapes from the hopsital and goes missing. Patrick figures out she's on the bridge where her sister jumped, and he finds her, about to jump off. He convinces her to get off, and she has a dream about her sister.
Anyone have an idea for the theme song?
It needs to be sad, inspiring, and about getting over something.
Some songs I had in mind:
- Sober by Kelly Clarkson
- How to Save a Life by The Fray
That's really all…
Please and Thank-you!
Suggestion:
Break Three Days Grace
