For the past 4 years or so I have been obsessed with collecting dolls and doing re-make. I have spent thousands of dollars on this. Before that I was obsessed with having a perfect home. Now I am obsessed with "fixing myself up". I got a great haircut and some clothes. And I am on a strict diet. The diet will probably take a year because I need to lose a lot of weight. I also want some cosmetic surgery but to get that I have to give up smoking for the money. I spend 200 a month on cigarettes. But smoking is also an obsession of mine. And it would take a year of not smoking and saving every penny to even come close to what I want done.
I am currently dead broke and I need new glasses and shoes as well. My glasses broke and I have been wearing the same shoes for years and they weren't good shoes to begin with.
So to sum it all up, I have to quit smoking, give up doll collecting and stick to my diet for a year.
But if I obsess about it I will give up for sure.
I am currently on medication for bipolar. These are Paxil, Zyprexa, Clonapin and Depakote.
Do I need an adjustment? My doctor is agreeable to most changes.
Suggestion:
You sound like your addicted to all kinds of flashy things. Why? Because flashy things are what grab the attention of others the most. You want attention. And your obsessions make you feel like you matter. Try going without validation for a while and see how it feels.
