I am very serious about quitting. I tried the patch for 2 days without a smoke however I feel myself wanting one. I cant do prescription. I am thinking hypnosis. How did you quit….Please I really want to quit. I have so much more to live for but the damn things have taken over my entire life!!!
Suggestion:
those desires to smoke are called cravings.. people in support groups have some tools to deal with them.. one of my favorites is known as the 5d's
Distract (do something else) for instance its hard to smoke doing dishes
Delay (i don't need one right now).. continued delays = a quit!!
Discuss you did that by asking the question, people in support groups do it in meetings or e-mails
Drink Water, it helps reduce cravings, and flushes toxins
Deep breathe, most smokers only breathe deeply when inhaling!!
the good news is that i now have been quit for over 5 years.. i quit trying to quit alone, and joined a support group.. i attend nicotine anonymous meetings both locally and on line.. on line voice meetings are he as close as your computer, and you can attend while still smoking, before actually attempting a quit.. however you decide to quit good luck, there is simply no wrong way to quit!!

I've been using electric cigarettes for a few months and they have helped my hubby and I in our quest to quit. It has really helped, especially with the hand to mouth addiction.
It was very easy to cut back, within a week we went from a pack a day to a 3-5 cigs a day. The hard part was choosing to stop the regular cigs completely. I looked at it like this, I am only smoking a few a day anyway, I might as well just not buy another pack. Now I can't even stand the smell of a real cigarette.
Although, I am still addicted to nicotine, I have been cutting my nicotine levels back in steps (Like you would with the patch). I am to the point now I use 2 different carts Low and 0 nicotine. I know there is controversy surrounding them, but to me anything has to be better then the 4000+ chemicals I was inhaling.
It also has saved me money and because it is refillable, It costs me between $30-$35 a month to smoke (no month isn't a typo).
I tried everything, I even paid $500 to get shots and NOTHING worked, except ecigs.
I bought mine from Brian at Epic-Vapor, he is WONDERFUL. I asked a million questions and he was so patient with me. He ships fast and his liquids are fantastic. One of my favorites is Banana Cream. I would recommend ecigs and Epic-Vapor to everyone!
Be aware of …
No one can quit if not convinced to do so.
There's no best way to quit.
Everyone is different in the way they stop smoking.
What worked for someone might not work for you.
I suggest reading http://stopsmoking.eu.pn/
The site has a poor design but its contents is very reach.
I agree with Jess. I smoked for over 30 years and tried nearly everything to quit except pharmaceuticals. Switched over to e-cigs and am working on eliminating the nicotine slowly.
10 months tobacco free – and loving every minute of it!

I agree with Jess & Lisa
I have friends that used ecigs to quit smoking. You will get the nicotine you crave without all the bad stuff in cigarettes and you don't smell like smoke.
I use an ecig as an alternative smoking. I don't regret switching and I wouldn't ever go back. I am also a fan of Epic-Vapor & Vapor4Life
