Has Anyone Had Any Luck with Electronic Cigarettes?

I really want to quit smoking, so Im thinking about getting one and would like to know if anyone has had any luck with them. I would hate to spend all that money and have it not work at all. I am also worried about possible side effects. So any feed back would be Awesome. Thanks for your help
