I am using 4 fans too cool my laptop (Targus Chillmat + ArtDio Cooler)
I repeat, I AM USING A LAPTOP FAN ALREADY
[The reason why I had to put that twice was due to the fact that I've asked about laptop heat before and people still suggested that I buy a laptop fan...]
But the temperature outside is 83F and in my room, it's a smoking hot 90F.
But still, the temperatures on my PC are:
HD0 : 44C
Temp1 : 61
Temp2 : 56
Core : 60
Why?
All I am using is iTunes and Yahoo! Answers.
Is it because of the 64-bit OS?
Suggestion:
Yes.
Laptop (and desktop for that matter) temperatures are really about temperature differences, not absolute values. If your room is 5 C hotter, expect your PC temperatures to be 5C higher. Heat only moves when there's a temperature differential driving it.
So, in a 90F (32C) room, your hard drive is 12C above ambient. Your CPU is up to 29C above ambient.
That will feel warm to the touch, obviously, but since processors have surprisingly high thermal limits (Core 2 Duos hit 105C for instance), your temperatures are safe for the computer.
