Does the Electronic Cigarette Really Help You Quit Smoking?

Is it true?

Suggestion:

Insofar as one stops inhaling smoke, in other words the short answer is yes. As some already have mentioned personal vaporizers or e-cigarettes may allow you to keep using nicotine. There is, however, zero nicotine e-liquid (tim & eric fans: good news, cigarette juice) on the market. Nicotine is in and of itself not a carcinogen but can speed along a precancerous lesion in the mouth. There are also effects on brain chemistry.

Many politicians wish to ban this product and much misinformation has been spread about it. I'm sure that $10 packs of death sticks have nothing to do with my home state of New York seeing an unanimous vote in the house to ban their sale. I'm also sure that the tobacco rolling companies are really excited that a viable alternative has become available that very well may have no seriously detrimental effects. The multinational corporations, banks and greedy power hungry politicians run everything.

A few more details-
I'm 21 and have smoked cigarettes for nearly four years and have tried nrt gum, cold turkey and chantix (verenicline). The last one works quite well but for me a dose low enough to tolerated the sleep related issues doesn't curb nicotine cravings. I've yet to try an ecig but ordered one yesterday after two weeks of researching.

Also of note: nicotine can be lethal in fairly low doses so having eliquid around the house could be problematic without responsible storage as a child or pet could become very ill or die should they consume it in liquid form.
