Does Anyone Have Any Proof That Dogs Do Fine with People Who Have Anxiety?

I'm still sick of being under attack by certain people who blame me for causing my dog's seizures and problems which started suddenly in March………..anyone have proof like real stories or scientific facts or whatever that people who have anxiety do not make bad pet owners as long as they properly care for their dogs and don't project the anxiety onto them? I mean have any studies been done or anything like for psychiatric service dogs, that prove these dogs are absolutely fine and not negatively affected by someone who has panic attacks or anxiety?

Suggestion:

It depends on the individual dog and person. I have seen pets negatively impacted by their owners' illnesses. Dogs are sensitive to your emotions. But what is the point of blaming the pet owner? It's not like they're doing something on purpose. I'd be angrier about a smoker who inflicted second hand smoke on their dog or someone who didn't secure their dog in the car on trips (by a seat belt or in a crate).

As far as psychiatric service dogs are concerned, they wouldn't be a good source of the type of information you seek because they are intentionally selected for having rock solid temperaments. In other words, service dogs, and especially PSDs are selected for their ability to handle stress.

As far as seizures go, one person having an anxiety disorder cannot cause another to suddenly develop seizures. The same is true with dogs. It's much more likely the seizures were congenital (inherited), the result of some sort of brain injury including a stroke, or some sort of chemical imbalance such as diabetes. Hanging around someone with anxiety isn't known to cause any of those things either.

If you provide all the care your dog needs (including veterinary care) and share your love with him then you're already ahead of the game as a pet owner. Sadly, a great many pets go without the basic necessities. I don't know who's trying to shovel the blame game in your direction, but it might be time to limit or cut off contact with them because they clearly are toxic to YOUR health and you count too, just as much as your dog.
