Ban on Electronic Cigarettes in the State of New York?

i'm not a consumer of these devices as i've never actually smoked. however, many friends of mine use these genius inventions as a safer way of satisfying their nicotine needs without using the harmful normal cigarettes. i don't understand why the FDA, who supposedly would be looking out for the better good of the people would ban a product like this! they say there is not enough evidence to prove that they actually do help people. well, in all of my friends' cases, every single one of them successfully quit smoking by using ecigs and have saved themselves from cancer and a fatal build up of toxins in their systems. not to mention enormous sums of money! the FDA also claims that the long term effects of ecigs are unknown and therefore they must be banned. hypocritical much? if there isn't sufficient evidence to prove that ecigs are harmful or not, then there is not sufficient evidence to ban them. and what about normal cigarettes? they haven't been banned from markets yet have they? and why? well for the money! duh! its all about the money! cigarettes in the state of NY have a 3 dollar tax which is the highest in the country, so, the FDA put two and two together and thought, well if the people will be buying ecigs to save their lives instead of literally buying and smoking their deaths closer than what they have to be, then of course, they must ban ecigs. sorry, did i miss something here? ecigs have saved my friends lives and i strongly disagree with the games the FDA are playing. not only are they making themselves look like complete as*holes, they obviously show no interest in the good of the people.

Suggestion:

I use an eletronic cigarette. The stuff that makes the vapor is the same stuff they use in fog machines for concerts, plays, clubs, etc. Why aren't they shutting them down too since there isn't enough evidence? I think this is a ploy to impose a tax on the product. I use the liquid without nicotine, so how can they ban that product since it doesn't have a drug?

I agree-

I think they want to exploit ecigs for taxes. But I think "Big Tobacco" has a financial play in stopping ecigs also.
